Art is a lie that tells the truth. My work adds an additional step where my art is a lie that tells a lie that tells the truth. I was raised where interactions with truth were complicated. Through my drawings, paintings, and prints I get an opportunity to play with the distance between what is stated with what is seen. This offers an opportunity for me to sort through these contradictions to find that the truest depiction often is the space between text and subtext.
